Worship the Holy Spirit
Answers for Today by Rev. Omar Gjerness
Answer #32 from Answers for Today (Vol. 1)
Question:
Is it right to pray to the Holy Spirit and worship Him?
Answer:
It is right to worship the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit is God. He is equal to the Father and equal to the Son. Jehovah is the name of the Triune God. The Holy Spirit, therefore, deserves worship every bit as much as the Father and the Son.
However, I believe that the ordinary pattern of prayer is to pray to teh Father, in the name of Jesus through the Holy Spirit. We read in John 16:23-24, “And in that day you shall ask me nothing. Verily, verily I say unto you, whatever you shall ask of the Father in my name, He will give it unto you. Hitherto you have asked nothing in my name. Ask and you shall receive that your joy may be full.”
